Carnegie Theoretical Astrophysics Center
The Carnegie Theoretical Astrophysics Center (CTAC) is in Pasadena, California at the Observatories of the Carnegie Institution for Science. CTAC brings theorists and observers together at the cutting edge of astrophysical research. We currently consist of four scientific staff members, ten postdocs, and a number of students. We annually offer a prize CTAC Fellowship to support independent research in theoretical astrophysics, particularly in areas related to planet formation, galaxy evolution, dark matter studies, high energy astrophysics, and cosmology. Fellows get access to our high performance computing resources (see below). In addition, CTAC features the state-of-the-art VizLab to explore novel data sets (theoretical and observational) and provide a collaborative space to explore the mysteries of the universe.

Computing Resources
Mies
Mies has 92 compute nodes, each consisting of a 16-core Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 CPU with 64 GBytes of memory. It has two 180 TByte RAIDS (360 TBytes total storage) for data.
Caltech HPC
The Carnegie Institution for Science is a 19% partner in Caltech's HPC Center. CTAC members get access to Caltech HPC resources through this partnership, including a total of 12,936 CPU cores, 200 GPUs, and over 100 TB of memory across 337 compute nodes, and over 400 TB of storage.
